The TP-Link Kasa Smart Switch connects directly to your home Wi-Fi network. Its design is simple and performs well with the Kasa app enabling you to access different features remotely from both outside and inside your home. As a smart Wi-Fi light switch, it links with TP-Link smart devices.
It works with voice control assistants Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant too. Motion sensors can be added for more smart lighting functionality. The Kasa Smart Light Switch puts you on the fast track to smart home by connecting to your network, opening it up to smart home devices and its Kasa app.
Simple in design with wide buttons. It’s great if you’ve fat fingers. It comes with a white finish only though so choice is limited and a bit boring. With the Wi-Fi signal on the switch indicates the connection strength of your network. A neutral wire is required.
NB. To identify the neutral wire, look for a bundle of white wires folded in the back of the junction box and secured with a wire nut. These are neutral wires and are required to use Smart Switch. Most UK homes built after 1978 have neutral wires.

Disconnect all of the wires from the old switch and connect them to the corresponding wires on the new Smart Switch.
The TP-Link Kasa Smart Switch is now an integrated smart controller. Press the switch to easily mirror on/off control to offer Kasa Smart devices, whether it is wire connected or not. Explore more possible interactions in the Kasa Smart app.
Even getting only one light switch, you’re getting an excellent deal considering how well the TP-Link Kasa Smart Light Switches work. Kasa app provides plenty of features such as runtime, usage, and scheduling. The best thing is you don’t need smart light bulbs at all. The switch works with old lamps, too. Just make sure they’re incandescent light bulbs, not LED.
As long as you have a neutral wire, this smart light switch won’t let you down. The TP-Link HS200 smart switch is a good switch that replaces any standard light switch. It works great as a standalone, as well as in tandem with your favourite digital assistant.
Kasa smart switches connect to your home Wi-Fi in no time through the Kasa app. TP-Link also lets you manage connected fixtures with your smartphone or tablet, including setting schedules, timers and countdowns.
All in all, we’re pretty impressed with the TP-Link Kasa smart switch. For £20 on Amazon, they are well worth a punt. If they're not floating your boat, however, check out our other smart light switch reviews here.
